    HOW IT WORKS

Brain Health Registry Switzerland wishes to get in touch with volunteers aged 50 and over who wish to contribute to scientific brain research.

Registration consists of a short questionnaire in which you will be asked to provide information about yourself, your health and your lifestyle. This will help us to select the appropriate participants for each study.

You will be able to choose whether or not to participate in the studies that will be offered to you.

Registration is free, open to anyone, with or without memory problems.

    REGISTER

You can express your interest in participating in a research study by simply entering some personal data - your first and last name and e-mail address.

You will then be asked to complete a short questionnaire to gather information about yourself, your health and your lifestyle. Answering these questions will only take a few minutes.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Only  BHR Switzerland staff will be able to access the information entered in the questionnaire.

WAIT FOR THE STUDY THAT FITS YOU

All the studies integrated at BHR Switzerland are conducted by researchers who follow a protocol in which all aspects of the study are described.

The protocol lists a series of characteristics that the participant must or must not possess in order to participate in the study, also known as "criteria".

    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

All studies included in the Swiss BHR registry are approved by a local ethics committee and guarantee the privacy and confidentiality of potential participants.

    TALK TO THE RESEARCHERS

If your characteristics correspond to the main selection criteria for a study, you will receive an e-mail to let you know.

Following this e-mail, a researcher from the study will contact you to explain the details of the study.

Together you will evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of participation and he will answer all your questions.

The researcher will then give you a period of time to think about whether you wish to participate in the proposed study.

    AGREE OR REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE

After a sufficient period of reflection, you will be contacted by the study investigator.

He will answer any questions or doubts that may have arisen during this time and will ask you if you wish to participate.
It is only at this stage that you will decide whether or not to participate in the proposed study.

If you agree, you will be able to make an initial appointment with the researcher.

If you refuse, you will have to wait until you receive a new e-mail indicating that another study for which you meet the criteria is available.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Even if you have given your consent to participate in a study, you will always be free to change your mind and/or withdraw from the study at any time without justification.

Refusal to participate in a proposed study will not affect your registration in the BHR Switzerland registry.

You may still receive e-mails for future studies.
